We are in a business that is strenuous, pressure packed, and at times can feel like a roller coaster. Pressure can be put you on by the firm you work for or it can be internal pressure to succeed and make a living, hit your numbers, and in an industry where there is much turnover, keep your job. To that point; There are certain things that can be overlooked if your end goal is just hitting your numbers. That includes, building long lasting relationships with your clients and candidates, going through the proper process and putting your best foot forward day in and day out.
Is it worth sacrificing long term goals in order to achieve short term success? Will the reward outweigh the risk of being shortsighted? These are questions that one may face on a daily basis. You may catch lightning in a bottle, but at the end of the day, doing things the right way and running your desk with the upmost merit and passion for recruiting and the industry your recruit in, can provide you the short- and long-term success that everyone wants to achieve.
