After watching the horrific Giants performance on Sunday night vs. the Eagles I contemplated not blogging this week. With that being said, a lesson that you learn from watching or playing football on a weekly basis is that you’re only as good as your offensive and defensive lines are. They are the infrastructure of the football team. I equate that to IT departments and their engineers, who work day in and day out with their hard hats and lunch pails to get the job done. It’s not the most glamorous of the IT roles, but strong engineers are essential, just like a strong offensive line. Without this you will not get your rollouts, implementations and upgrades moving forward in a timely basis, just like in the Giants case on Sunday, you will not win the battles at the line or in the game.
